On Goat Creek with a four legged friendThe Lynx-Goat-Lost Creek circle is 33.3-km of easy to moderate mountain biking. The most technical of the part trail being the creek crossings on Goat Creek and the climb up Goat Creek Pass. Along the way your feet will get wet but just how wet will vary with the time of the year. There are some spectacular sections of scenery but there are also times with little to see. Additional time is required if you wish to explore some of the spur trails, like the scenic spur up South Goat Creek. Be aware that bears frequently this trail especially on the Goat Creek side.
This may be the best easier ride in southwest Alberta. Beginning at the intersection of the Adanac and Lynx Creek Roads (locally known as the Satoris Road) you descend the Lynx Creek Road to the Goat Creek Haul Road. Along this descend you will be faced with a couple of little challenging hills . Once at Goat Creek you will find a gentle rolling doubletrack with some creek crossings and the quick up and downs where culverts have been removed. At about the 15-km point of the trail there are many optional spurs that take you up South Goat Creek with the one at 15.9-km being the best. After crossing South Goat Creek the trail climbs to Goat Pass and its great views. The trail then descends through great bear habitat to Lost Creek. A fast slight downhill makes this trail fun as it takes you along Lost Creek to the main Lost Creek Road and onto the Carbondale Haul Road. At the end of the Carbondale Road one returns to the trailhead via a short section of the Adanac Road.
